Whitireia / Onehunga Bay
Drive through Porirua heading towards Titahi Bay. Follow the signs to take you to Whitireia Park and head over the hill and down the narrow winding road towards the beach. When at the bottom of the hill you will see a car park on the right. Follow the road to the left until there is a clearing on the left to park and beach access over the road (photos)
This bay works in Northerly to Northwest winds.
This is an O.K spot to learn on calmer days. Avoid going out too far so you stay in the bay area when learning, until you have mastered going upwind.
It is a popular spot for Wind sports when the wind is too West for central Wellington locations (Seatoun)
